Atlantica’s Revolutionary War and Mabinogi’s Puppetry Talent

September and October were hectic months, but this week and last week all the hard work is paying off. Following last week’s release of Lotus Marsh in Dragon Nest, I’m pleased to announce two more major updates to some of my other games: Atlantica Online and Mabinogi.

Atlantica’s Revolutionary War update is here to celebrate Atlantica’s fourth anniversary in North America by adding in some real patriotic content. Players get to fight by General George Washington’s side in a parallel version of history in which Benedict Arnold and the Redcoats have been twisted by the evil forces of Atlantis. After the war’s won, Washington will join the player’s formation as a powerful mercenary who uses a rifle and unadulterated patriotism to deal damage and boost his fellow soldiers.

Mabinogi got a big update in the last week, with a major re-working of the game UI, a brand new skill set, and an overhaul of the character specialization system. (I’ll be talking about the new Puppeteer skills, since that’s what I worked on; for the full details, check out the patch notes.) When a misdelivered letter sends the player to a toy shop in Emain Macha, he meets a young puppet maker with an enchanted past. After the player helps Huw track down a long-lost childhood friend, the puppet maker will teach the player all about battle puppetry and unlock the ability to use powerful marionettes in combat. It’s a good time!
